- Protect a wide range of data entities including the entire vDC, vApps, and VMs.
- View the protection jobs setup, the health of the protection jobs, and see which objects are protected (or not) for easy audit based on jobs currently running, total runs within a time period, successful and cancelled runs, errors, and SLA violations.
- Report on recent activity and historical data such as last 24 hours of activity, historical data for the last 12 months, and recent recoveries.
- Be able to restore VMs and files and folders.
- Self-guided granular restore operations with powerful search capabilities.
- Automatically protect entities (“Auto Protect”) to allow for default protection as new VMs/vApps are added.

With iland Backup for Secure Cloud, can I replicate backups to a remote site?
Yes, both Standard and Advanced backups offer replication of backup data to a remote site.
How are iland Backup for Secure Cloud options priced?
iland Standard Backup for Secure Cloud is priced per GB matching the amount of Secure Cloud storage being used and by the length of retention. Offsite backup options are priced separately per stored GB.
iland Advanced Backup for Secure Cloud is charged at the vDC level based on a reservation plus burst model. The billing measurement is based on GB and the sum of the storage protected by Backups (Local+Remote).
Given that billing is based on storage, will I have visibility into usage?
For standard backups, no. Storage visibility is not possible.
Advanced Backups provide storage utilization graphs, similar to the Tenant Storage Graph for VCC-B. These graphs will display current and historical backup storage utilization. Data is available at all levels, from VM to vDC.
Will I have visibility into the charges that I have accrued?
Standard backups do not display charges as it is fixed per GB of Secure Cloud usage.
Advanced Backups display billing graphs, similar to the Billing Summary Graph for VCC-B, with charges specific to backups. Data is available at the vDC, vApp, and VM level. This data will match the charges on the customer invoice.
